On location hair & makeup on your special day vs going to the salon
1 – At the hair salon you are the regular client there in the book, there is no “the bride-to-be” slot
What does that mean exactly? It means that if somebody is late prior to you, you are postponed! When you work with an on location wedding hair & make-up artist, we come to you in the comfort of your home.
2 – Most hairdressers are busy on Fridays and Saturdays
If you have guests that require makeup and hair too, it’ll be a huge production. If one of the customer is late for one of the stylists that are collaborating with your bridesmaids – the entire party is late! When you choose a professional who comes to your place/hotel this won’t happen. And also each stylist functions accordingly to the routine that was established in advance.
3 – Hairdressers at the salons are fantastic with cut/color/blow dry
But updo’s are a completely different story. Chances are that your regular hair stylist won’t be delighted when you ask them to do your wedding day updo. You might see it in their eyes, but they may be too nice to say no.
4 – With possible wedding stress you have to drive to the salon
Most hair salons open at 9 a.m. . What happens if you have a very early ceremony? Your make-up artist & hairstylist could save you all the trouble, because you’ll need all the time you can get to prepare the little important details.
Yes, hiring a professional on location artist costs more and is a luxury service. If you feel comfortable doing your own makeup, curl hair and look like million bucks, then please be my guest! But if you do decide to have it done professionally, I’d recommend at least hiring someone for yourself and maybe “key” people like mothers or maid of honor.
