Planning a wedding in the Netherlands when you don’t live here can feel exciting — and sometimes a little overwhelming.
You may already have your venue, photographer and dress organised, but then comes the question: who will do my bridal makeup and hair?
Finding someone you can trust is especially important when you’re planning from another country. You want to communicate easily, feel understood and know that your makeup artist will arrive on the day knowing exactly what you have in mind.
Look for someone who understands you
When searching for bridal makeup in the Netherlands, don’t only look at beautiful photographs.
Think about the style you actually want.
If you normally prefer natural makeup, for example, you may not want to suddenly look heavily made up on your wedding day. Instead, look for a makeup artist whose portfolio reflects the kind of skin, makeup and hairstyles that make you feel comfortable.
For international brides, communication matters too. Being able to discuss your ideas, concerns and preferences in English can make the whole experience much easier.
Where are you getting married?
The Netherlands may look small on a map, but your wedding could take place anywhere from a city hotel to a countryside estate.
I offer on-location bridal makeup and hairstyling for English-speaking brides in and around Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Delft and Utrecht, as well as other locations throughout the Netherlands.
That means you don’t have to worry about travelling to a salon on your wedding morning. I can come to your home, hotel or wedding venue.
Planning your trial
If you’re travelling to the Netherlands before your wedding, your bridal trial can be a wonderful opportunity to meet in person and try your makeup and hairstyle.
However, if that’s not possible, don’t worry. We can discuss your preferences, inspiration, skin and hair beforehand so that I can prepare for your wedding day.
Your inspiration photographs are welcome, but I also want to understand what you like and what you don’t like. A photograph can show me a beautiful hairstyle, but knowing why you love it helps me create something that feels right for you.
Your wedding morning should feel calm
When you’re planning a destination wedding, there are already enough things to think about.
Your hair and makeup should not be another source of stress.
My aim is to make the experience relaxed and personal, while creating natural, timeless bridal makeup and hairstyling that still feels like you.
